20kg Glass Filter Media Grade 1 - Collect in Store Only
Grade 1 Glass equivalent to 16/30 grade sand - can be used in all sand filters without modification.
Glass is an environmentally friendly filter media and an excellent alternative to sand. It is made from recycled glass that doesn't involve intrusive mining and the use of scarce resources.
The key features of glass media are:
- Improves water clarity, removes up to 30% more material and pollutants than sand
- Removes particles as small as 5 microns
- Pay back period less than 12 months
- Reduces chemical usage
- Resists bacterial contamination
- Longer lasting
- Chloramines greatly reduced
- 50% less water required to back wash
- 10% less media required than sand
